Dec. 17, 2018                                                            The Week Ahead

Reminders for the last week of school in 2018:

Silent Entrance Monday Morning, Dec. 17: Please enter school Monday morning in silence as we mark the third week of Advent. As students enter school on Monday morning the dimmed lights will remind them to remain silent as they prepare themselves for the day. Teachers will hold battery-operated candles and encourage students to complete their normal morning routines in silence.

On Friday afternoon students will leave their classrooms in silence. We encourage students to maintain this silence until they are in the car or on the bus. We ask for your prayers during Advent as these times of silence will help our students to pause, wait and prepare our hearts for the birth of the Lord.

Lost and Found Items Donated: The Lost and Found Bin is overflowing. We kindly ask that you look through the bin by Friday, Dec. 21. All items still remaining after that date will be donated to the Hope Center or St. Vincent de Paul.

Drop Off Line:  A quick reminder that the drop off line in the morning is for dropping off kids who can get themselves out of the car and walk to the front doors. If your children need help getting out of the car or if their backpacks are in the trunk, we encourage you to please park in the Safe Parking Area west of the drop off lane. There are plenty of parking spaces and you can assist your child by retrieving backpacks and lunches, etc. Your children can walk in from the Safe Parking Area. We want to keep the drop off line efficient and orderly. Thank you for your cooperation.

Wednesday, Dec. 19: Wacky Wednesday with a theme of Ugly Sweater and Crazy Sock Day! Bring in new socks for our sock drive and that is your "ticket" to dress down and wear holiday sweaters and crazy socks. All socks will be donated to the Hope Center in Waukesha for its Spread the Warmth Sock Drive. Thank you to the Student Council for organizing this Dress Down Day!

Wednesday, Dec. 19: Rosary recited at 8:30 am in the Life Teen Cafe. All parents, family members and parishioners are welcome to say the rosary and pray for our school, church, students, parents, teachers and special intentions. Please take 30 minutes to pray with us during Advent.

Thursday, Dec. 20: All-School Mass at 8:30 am with the 4th Grade Class leading. All are welcome to this last school Mass for 2018.

Thursday, Dec. 20: School-wide Advent Spirit Service Project at 1 pm. Students will prepare weekend bags of food for students in Waukesha schools through an organization called Blessings in a Backpack. The group mobilizes communities, individuals and resources to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children across Waukesha County who might otherwise go hungry. Students will put together nearly 3,000 bags. After the service project about 2:30 pm classroom parties will begin.

Friday, Dec. 21: Living Nativity Play presented by 2nd and 3rd Graders beginning at 10:30 am in the church. Come see a live costumed re-enactment of the Christmas story through scripture and song. All are welcome and this is the perfect way to head into the weekend before Christmas. Please bring family and friends as our students have spent weeks rehearsing. Read more here.

Friday, Dec. 21: Early Release at 11:45 am for students in 5K through 8th Grade to begin Christmas Vacation. Preschool students released at 11:30 am.

Friday, Dec. 21: ADORE Family Holy Hour beginning at 6:30 pm in the church. More information here.

School resumes on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019. Have a safe vacation!
