Reminders For A Busy Week Of School & The Fourth Full Week Of Lent
Stay up-to-date on school news by reading the items below.
Parish Mission Begins Monday Night: Make plans to attend the Parish Mission in the church on Monday, April 1 through Wednesday, April 3. Each night begins at 6 pm and ends at 8 pm and includes talks, adoration, music and worship. Tuesday, April 2 also includes reconciliation with at least seven priests. Dr. Dan Scholz from Cardinal Stritch University will lead the mission. Each night's talk is different and builds off the previous night. During this halfway point of Lent make plans to attend one or all three nights. You won't be disappointed. Click HERE for more information.
Science Fair: Middle School students will present Science Fair Projects to judges on Wednesday, April 3 from 1 pm to 3 pm. Be sure to stop by the Borromeo Room anytime this week and the weekend of April 5 and look at the amount of hard work and time put forth by the students. It's impressive! The projects will be in the Borromeo Room through next Monday, April 8 which is when the Awards Ceremony takes place beginning at 2:30 pm. All are welcome.
Spring Musical Willy Wonka Jr. Tickets On Sale: Save the weekend of April 6 & 7 for performances of Willy Wonka Jr. on the St. Charles stage. There is a cast of 50 kids who have been rehearsing for weeks and are excited to bring this musical to St. Charles. The performances are at 11 am and 6:30 pm on Saturday, April 6 and 12:30 pm on Sunday, April 7. Tickets are on sale in the Parish Office weekdays between 8 am and 4 pm and they are also on sale at the door before each performance.
Silent Entrance On Monday, April 1: Once again we will have Silent Entrance and Silent Exit each week during Lent. As your children enter school Monday morning please remind them to be calm and quiet and to make minimal noise as they enter their classrooms. We will have a Silent Exit on Friday, April 5 at dismissal.
Lenten Spiritual Opportunities: There are many ways to pray, give alms and sacrifice this Lent. Visit this LINK to find how you can deepen your Lenten experience. Also, the Rosary Group meets on Wednesday, April 3 in the Life Teen Cafe at 8:30 am. Join us for about 20-25 minutes to say the rosary. It's a powerful bit of time and the rewards are great. The Traveling Rosary, which moves from house to house each week, is in need of more homes. Learn more and sign up HERE. There are weeks available between now and the end of the school year so please volunteer to take a week. And finally 40 Hours Devotion begins Friday, April 5 and continues through Sunday, April 7. We invite you to spend time in adoration during this Lenten season. Learn more HERE.
School Masses This Week: Grades 4K through 4th Grade attend Mass Tuesday, April 2 with the 2nd Grade leading. Students in 5th through 8th Grades will attend Thursday, April 4 with 7th Graders leading. Please join us for Mass each day which begins at 8:30 am.
Pizza Lunch Set For April 11: The final Pizza Lunch for the School Year is scheduled for Thursday, April 11. This is the last fundraiser for the 8th Grade class and students and parents have spent the last two years raising money for graduation and legacy gifts for the parish and school. New this time around is that parents can pre-order baked goods from the bake sale when they are placing the pizza order. Please note that the deadline to order pizza and treats is Monday, April 8. Please be prompt because after April 8 orders will not be accepted. Click HERE for the order form. Also just a reminder that there is no hot lunch offered on this day -- only the pizza.
